MATERIAL EXPERIENCE
The sensory properties of materials can be categorized into natural and man-made textures according to human senses and psychology. The first one is the inherent texture of the material itself, and the second one is a purposeful artificial processing. Exploring the new possibilities of materials can apply a various sense to different materials.
Add-on Material: Tea leaf
Tea leaf with other materials
Characterization:Easy to dry and harden on the surface, slow on the inside. Clear texture
Conclusion: Relatively unperishable, can be cut. Is not easy to be randomly plasticized because the shape of the leaf.
Add-on Material: corn starch
Mix white vinegar, cornstarch, glycerin, water
Characterization: hard, no lumps, malleable
Conclusion: non-perishable, strong structure
Because the material itself is stable, it can be added to other substances, such as coffee powder
Add-on Material: corn starch / water
Cornstarch with water
Characterization: hard, dries out easily, clumps appear on the surface
Conclusion: not easy to deteriorate, but the ratio of water to starch needs to be precise
Add potato peel as the main body and starch as the binder, the lumps are not very obvious, relatively smooth
Add-on Material: gelatine
Gelatin with the right amount of water
Characterization: elastic, but can be plasticized, with a certain degree of transparency, the small particles on the surface, not easy to see when thicker
Conclusion: gelatin can be used as one of the additional substances to stabilize the viscosity of the material.
Add-on Material: egg
Separate egg whites, whites and emulsify.
Characterization: hard, but easily deteriorated
Conclusion: Eggshells are one of the materials for a good pattern, utilizing the properties of egg white bonding
